Digital archiving proved to be a logical step toward a standardized workflow within BNP Paribas S.A. With operations in no fewer than 14 countries and more than 1,400 employees, it was impossible to exchange financial documents from physical filing cabinets.

Our Solutions

BNP Paribas S.A. is committed to a globally uniform approach

Each employee had a slight variation in their own work methods. This became increasingly difficult to manage, leading to inefficiencies and security risks. In short: BNP Paribas S.A. was looking for a standardized document management system.

Together with OneXillium, the decision was made to implement Xtendis, the Enterprise Information Management (EIM) platform. Documents are now digitized on a single, centralized platform, and every employee has immediate access to the desired document, regardless of location or time. By working with a specific structure based on tags, a uniform workflow has been established. This saves time and storage space, and because the Xtendis platform guarantees digital authenticity and protects the integrity of documents against unauthorized use, BNP Paribas S.A. no longer has to worry about security.

How do you build a sustainable framework using business data?

In today’s digital transformation, documents are becoming increasingly less important, while data is gaining more value. As a result of massive digital growth, the fragmentation of documents is a looming threat. A document is often stored in multiple locations and across various applications, making it difficult to maintain control. In that regard, we are still only at the beginning of digitization. We need to master control over data just as we did with the old-fashioned filing cabinet. Information management is the path to structure. As an overarching EIM framework, we provide visibility into information—the essential foundation amid the proliferation of data.
