Device as a Service

The benefits of

“IT departments spend an unnecessary amount of time on IT hardware. Take, for example, the process of collecting and issuing laptops, phones, and tablets. Due to the current situation in the labor market, employee turnover is high at many organizations, which means more and more work for IT departments in this area. Working with a DaaS partner like OneXillium saves a tremendous amount of time for this reason alone.

DaaS vs. Carepack

OneXillium

With DaaS, companies have a subscription in which an external party takes over the management and maintenance of the IT hardware. The alternative is to use the standard care packs that come with new hardware such as laptops and phones as part of the warranty. There’s nothing wrong with that in itself. But as an organization, you often have laptops, phones, and tablets from multiple brands. That means a separate service number for each brand, with call center agents located God-knows-where in the world who have no idea what matters to you as a customer. We’ve all been there. The result: frustration and no progress at all.

“A call to the service desk should provide you with solutions, not headaches and frustration.”

In my opinion, DaaS means that you receive excellent support when you run into problems. It means having a single point of contact, whether you’re having issues with your laptop, phone, or tablet—and regardless of the brand. It means that when you call, you’ll speak to someone who immediately knows what hardware you have. We don’t leave you to fend for yourself; instead, we provide remote assistance whenever possible and come out in person when necessary. That’s much more helpful.

Everything Turned Upside Down

With many DaaS subscriptions, it’s considered perfectly normal to replace all the hardware. Why? If you’ve bought ten new laptops in the past year, it makes no sense to get rid of them already. That’s not good for your wallet or for the environment. In my opinion, you can easily keep what’s still in good condition and add it to your DaaS subscription. . And when the hardware really is at the end of its life, it might be able to get a second life or be recycled. That’s how IT hardware and sustainability go hand in hand.

The IT department is not a service desk

In my opinion, the biggest misconception is that the IT department is the company’s service desk. Troubleshooting IT hardware issues is not the IT department’s job at all. IT is a critical success factor for gaining a competitive advantage and must be able to focus on, for example, streamlining internal processes or improving customer service.

A Data-Driven Model

With our Data-Driven model, we take DaaS to an even higher level. This includes: ordering a new device, collecting a device upon termination of employment, deploying an image, delivery to your home or workplace, next-business-day swap support, CMDB management, and data destruction. Data is a constant guiding factor in this process. For example, we use data on how you use the hardware to provide the perfect advice. Data is central to management and service. With our cloud-based, AI-driven management tool, we can proactively resolve issues before they disrupt users or the organization.
